GORDON RICHARDSON
lives in inspirational Olinda
in the “Blue Dandenong’s”,
not far from where Arthur Streeton retired.
He paints mainly landscapes and still-life. He has been developing his work in the traditional tonal style in oils
under the tutelage of Jeffrey Murphy,
but he also works in coloured pencil and acrylic.
He is in deep admiration of the dramatic work of Caravaggio whose paintings have the impact of a modern film clip – exciting you to wonder what happens next. Gordon strives to emulate this in his paintings – so as to have the viewer peering to know what is just out of view.
